The future of airborne commuting might be closer than we think! Miami-based company Doroni Aerospace is preparing to debut their EV flying car, the H1-X, as early as 2025.

The H1-X isn't technically a "flying car", but an all-electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) craft that can effortlessly fit into a garage! It's packed with sophisticated features for improved aerodynamics and safety, including anti-collision sensors, a barometer, LIDAR, optic-flow cameras, and a ballistic parachute for total failure scenarios.

The H1-X electric “air taxi” is currently in the process of seeking FAA certification as an ultralight aircraft, allowing it to operate within urban areas. The development of certification standards for eVTOLs (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft) is still ongoing.

Doroni Aerospace and other electric air taxi manufacturers are actively engaged in collaboration with the FAA to help establish these standards. The H1-X aims to serve as an eVTOL that offers an alternative mode of transportation for commuters, potentially replacing cars and trains in the future.
