In a bold move towards digitalization, aerospace company Leonardo is integrating state-of-the-art digital connectivity into its AW09 single-engine light helicopter.

At the heart of this digital transformation are flight tracking, data recording, and connectivity links. The goal? To enhance customer support and understand fleet operations better.

As per Aviation Week's report, Leonardo's initiative will aid in the development of more efficient upgrades and new products. The AW09 will showcase a cutting-edge connectivity system designed by Garmin, a renowned player in the field of electronics and GPS technology. This system is designed to collect data from the aircraft, and support services including predictive logistics and technical support.

Spidertracks, a trusted name in aviation tracking, is also partnering with Leonardo for flight tracking. The company intends to check the effectiveness of the connectivity system during the first flight of the pre-series production aircraft.
